Loris Karius has reportedly turned down the chance to watch the Champions League final in Madrid over fears he will be a distraction.
The shot-stopper played a major role in last season’s final for Liverpool against Real Madrid – for all the wrong reasons.
His two calamitous errors in the showpiece in Kiev ruined Jurgen Klopp’s chances of winning his first piece of silverware as Liverpool boss.
Klopp subsequently packed him off on a two-year loan to Beskitas, with few believing he will feature again for the Reds.
Despite that, he is understood to have been invited to attend the match against Spurs this weekend along with other players who have been out on loan.
But the Daily Mail claim Karius has decided to go on holiday rather than attend the showpiece at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday evening.
Liverpool chiefs are said to be supportive of his decision to remain out of the limelight for the match.

Since his nightmare night in Kiev, things haven’t got much better for Karius.
He has made several high-profile errors in the Turkish Super Lig this term and Beskitas boss Senol Gunes recently had some harsh words for the glovesman.
Gunes said: “He was at fault for the goals he conceded. Karius has gone a bit stagnant, something is wrong with his electricity, motivation, enthusiasm for the game.
“It has been like that since the beginning. He does not really feel a part of the team.

“Something is wrong, he has also been unlucky. [He] is talented but it hasn’t worked out and we have a problem.
“Let me put it this way, if I still had [my other goalkeeper] Tolga available I would play him.”
Karius’ partner Sophia Thomalia, a German actress, also revealed the word ‘LOSER’ had been sprayed on her car on Tuesday.
Thomalla, 29, sarcastically captioned the snap on her Instagram; “na klasse” – which translates to ‘no class’.
