Ayr United have recruited topless models to advertise their new home and away kits for the 2019/20 season.
In recent years, the Scottish Championship side have caused controversy for using racy tactics with previous new strip unveilings.
For the second consecutive year, The Honest Men have accompanied a female model alongside a male one to avoid accusations of sexism.
Professional models Charis Lister and Mikael Angesjo stripped off for the ‘bodypaint’ shoot to show off the new kits, sponsored by Bitcoin SV.
Ayr have been criticised in the past for their use of semi-naked models to launch kits.
In 2016, Maureen McGonigle (founder of Scottish Women in Sport) condemned the approach, declaring: “For a club trying to encourage the local community to support it, this is an own goal.
“They’re using tactics from the 1970s to sell strips. They’d be much better using positive images of a family to promote the kit.
“This is a dreadful piece of marketing.”
However, Stuart McCall’s men could well be wearing the kits in the Scottish Premiership next season as they close in on a play-off place.
The Honest Men currently sit third in the table following their defeat to Partick Thistle, and are set to face fourth-placed Inverness.
