Jim White has blasted Celtic captain Scott Brown for his wind-up antics towards Rangers players and supporters in Sunday’s Old Firm derby.
The midfielder seemed to be a mission to provoke the Gers at Parkhead, and the Light Blues only played into his hands as they had two players sent off for retaliating.
Alfredo Morelos received his fifth red card of the season during the first half for reacting to Brown’s attempt to trip him up by swinging an elbow into the Celtic star’s face.
Andy Halliday was also sent off after he confronted Brown over his celebrations towards visiting Rangers fans, while he was also floored by a punch to the face from on-loan Liverpool winger Ryan Kent during the match.
Celtic’s 2-1 victory means Neil Lennon’s side are now 13 points clear of their fierce rivals at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard criticised Brown following the game, accusing him of intentionally goading his players to spark a reaction, and backed Halliday for ‘protecting his people’.
And Jim has also taken aim at Brown, saying he lacks the class expected of a Celtic skipper.
The talkSPORT host said on Monday: “It was the celebration after they won, and Rangers would have celebrated if they won, but he was celebrating very, very close to the small number of Rangers supporters who were allowed in.
“And that’s what led to Gerrard to say, ‘a lack of respect’.
“This is what he lacks, he lacks respect and you expect more from a Celtic captain.
“I think of Celtic captains in the past, my God, I think of Roy Aitken, of Billy McNeill, the best one ever. Brown doesn’t have it for me in terms of respect.

“He lured in Ryan Kent, who lost the plot, but he is 22 and Morelos is the same age.
“Brown has been around the block and he knows what he is doing.”
Ian Holloway, who was a guest co-host on Monday’s show, also believes Brown ‘stepped over the mark’ by goading Rangers supporters.
And the former Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers boss also admitted, like Kent, he’d very much like to punch the Celtic midfielder, too.
“I look at him sometimes and I want to knock him out,†he added.
“The passion in that part of the world, it’s all part of it, but you’ve got to be telling your players not to rise to it.
“I know I wouldn’t be able to [punch him] and he’s a good player. It’s all about the passion and he gets it.
“But I do feel he’s stepped over the mark and you shouldn’t be going to the crowd like that.”
