Police in Spain have arrested several current/former players from Spain’s top two divisions on suspicion of match fixing.
Leeds United attacker Samu Saiz – currently on loan at Getafe – is among those to have been taken in as part of the operation.
Borja Fernandez, Carlos Aranda, Inigo Lopez Montana and former Real Madrid man Raul Bravo are other names known to have been arrested, as well as Agustin Lasaosa – president of LaLiga club Huesca.
A La Liga spokesman explained: “The police action follows complaints about possible match-fixing in a May 2018 match from La Liga to the Spanish authorities.
“La Liga is very active in combating match-fixing. It is important to us to have a fair competition.”
