Fox Sports Asia claim Arsenal are close to making En-Nesyri their first signing of the summer, though Real Betis are also chasing the striker with a price tag of around £8.8million touted.

En-Nesyri and his agent are thought to be considering a number of deals from European clubs that have been put to them.

The report also suggests Arsenal are leading the race for his signature because of the player’s interest in moving away from Spain.

The 21-year-old joined Leganes from Malaga in August 2018 and signed a five-year contract.

He began his professional career with Malaga after joining from the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco in 2015 as a youngster, going on to make 41 appearances for Boquerones.

En-Nesyri has also represented Morocco on 21 occasions, chipping in with six goals.

He is part of the national team who are currently preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins later this month.
