Charlton reached Wembley after a remarkable semi-final win over Doncaster.


Two thrilling ties saw the Addicks draw 4-4 with Rovers on aggregate before a penalty shoot-out at the Valley decided it.


Charlton boss Lee Bowyer said: “To lead this unique set of players out at Wembley, with our fans singing their hearts out like they do, I think it will be an emotional time for me.”











Sunderland moved a step closer to an immediate return to the Championship with a more straightforward 1-0 aggregate triumph over Portsmouth.


Chris Maguire’s volley in the first leg of their tie proved enough to get the Black Cats back to Wembley.


Sunderland manager Jack Ross said: “We have another opportunity now to go to Wembley and achieve ultimately what we set out to do at the start of the season. It just becomes a really important game for us.”

The League One Play-Off final will get underway at 3pm on Sunday, May 26.


In the regular season, Sunderland won 2-1 at home thanks to Lynden Gooch’s 90th-minute strike before it ended in a 1-1 draw at the Valley.
